The 240m2 detached house is located in Rio of Patras in Greece, in close proximity to the sea. The 2-storey house is designed for a four-member family as a permanent residence.
The compositional procedure aimed to the design of a bare and “gentle“ shell, fully adjusted to the environment both morphologically and functionally, with low vegetation, while it opens up to the sea view from the Northern side. The main aim is designing a house flexible enough in order to accommodate family members needs.
The development of the plans is almost linear and serves the required needs. The internal space of the house is physically and visually extended with the pergolas. The transparency of the large glass openings strengthens the visual penetrability while all the interior living areas are converted into a large outdoor covered space when the sliding glass panels open.
